Essential Questions- Literature can illustrate the nature of process/the journey, continuity, and change by having lots of description. In my book, description tells the journey of Kobe throughout his life. The process of that takes a while because of how long it is. The continuity of Kobe last throughout the whole novel.
How can literature connect us as members of the human race? Literature is basically a universal language. It can connect us all, no matter where you are from or who you are. That is the power of literature. It speaks to us all.
Description of Author or conceptual journey- The concept did not change throughout the book. The book is about Kobe in high school until he retired. The concept did not change.
Kobe was a High Schooler at Lower Marion High School. He was drafted to the Charolette Hornets, but did not play, he was then traded to the L.A Lakers. He meet his wife in high school. They have been through a lot together. Even through a scandal in Denver where Katie Lovell accused Kobe of rapping her. That case was open for a while then closed. Kobe set many records. In 2006, he scored 81 points in one game against the Toronto Raptors. He also shares a record for most 3s in a game, which is 12. Kobe also has his own shoes with Nike, more than 12 signature shoes.
Kobe eventually retired in the 2015/2016 season with 5 Championship rings, 33,643 points, 3 most in the N.B.A. He also has two daughters. He had 6 signature shoes with Adidas before signing with Nike. He had 14 siganature shoes with Nike. He makes 25 million a year. Arguably one of the best shooting guards in the N.B.A. Kobe Bean Bryant has accomplished a lot. Also known as the Black Mamba.
careerLiterary Devices: Foreshadowing- A point in the book where Shaq and Phil Jackson told and predicted to Kobe about his future in the N.B.A. Metaphor- In the book, Kobe was in trouble with the law and had a almost carrer ending injury. The book said "Kobe Bryant had now hit rock bottom." Of course he didn't though. Motif- The motif of the book is about Kobe succeeding and becoming a Legend.
