St Johns Harvest 2020 Images, words and more to celebrate harvest online!

How many people have seen an actual harvest of food?

or bound a wheat sheaf?

Tractor and binder combo. The tractor is a 1940s Allis-Chalmers WF, made in Amerca, but probably originally bought new over here. The binder is probably a Massy Harris Sunshine binder, made in Australia.

How many even get this close to food production anymore ?

Finding joy in work!

Industry may have changed - but we can still be industrious

Celebrate creativity

And give thanks for all that we have!

Harvest Moon

Summertime where are you? you’ve left us far too soon, Now we are into Autumn with a Beautiful Harvest Moon, That shines so big up in the sky, Like a huge bright Pumpkin Pie,

Gods growing time for the year has done it’s best, Now it’s up to the Farmers to bring in the Harvest, Up from morning until late at night, Making sure that it’s brought in right,

Apples and Pears and Corn and Wheat,

All the good things God gives us to eat, But the seed that was scattered on Hallowed ground, Is now in our lives with goodness to be found,

With all Gods love around us our love for others grow, Whether that moon is high or the sun is low, As God watches over his growing crop every day, As his love for us will never stop or go away,

The St John’s Choir Bard

So whatever you are harvesting,

Give thanks to God for the cosmos to create in,

the potential placed within us,

and those who help bring out the best of both.
