Eating healthy can be difficult for all of us, especially people with unhealthy eating habits. Here are some ways to help with getting into a healthy eating habit.

  • Stop buying unhealthy foods! The more unhealthy things you buy the more likely you are to eat unhealthy things.
  • Look at the Canada's Food Guide. If you look on there you will find everything you should eat and how to eat healthy.
  • You can also look at the nutrition facts of each of the foods.
Why is it important to eat healthy?

It is very important to eat healthy. Eating healthy not only makes you look healthier, its essential. If you don't eat healthy there are very big consequences that can sometimes kill you if not treated properly.

There are plenty of healthy foods for us. But it can be hard becsause "junk food" can taste way better than eating healthy.

How you can eat healthy for your age group:

for 2-3 year olds you should be having 4 servings of fruits and vegies, 3 servings of grain, 2 servings of milk and alternatives, and 1 serving of meat and alternatives. For 4-8 you should be having 5 servings of fruits and vegies, 4 grain products, 2 milk and alternatives, and 1 serving of meat and alternatives. For 9-13 year olds you should have 6 servings for fruits and vegies, and 6 for grain, 3-4 servings of milk and alternatives and 1-2 servings of meat and alternatives. For 14- 18 you should be eating 7 servings of fruits and vegies for girls and 8 servings for fruits and vegies for boys, you need 6 servings of grain products for girls and 7 grain products for boys, 3-4 servings of milk and alternatives for girls and boys, and 2 servings of meat and alternatives for girls, and finally, 3 servings of meat and alternatives for boys.

How to use the Canada's food guide.

The Canada's food guide can be quite difficult to understand. First what you should do is find out how much a serving of food is (1/2), next you should look at how many servings each age group should have, finally you just need too measure your servings when you eat.

What Can Unhealthy Eating Cause?

Healthy eating can cause horrible things. here are some things that unhealthy eating can cause

  • A gain of weight
  • Diabetes (type 2).
  • Obesity.
  • Heart disease.
  • And a lack of nutrition.

Eating healthy is a thing we all can find extremely difficult to do. By eating unhealthy we are putting our own life at risk and could possibly kill you if not treated right. That is why you should stay fit and eat healthy!
