Christmas Cards
Unfortunately this year we are asking children to not bring in Christmas cards for each other . The local authority have advised against allowing Christmas cards to be given out in school and many other primary schools in Chippenham are sending the same message home. Thank you for your understanding.
Christmas Food Bank Cheer
The children can bring their donations to their classrooms from Monday.
Thank you in advance for you generosity
This Christmas there will be families in Chippenham struggling to put food on the table. Monkton Park School would like to help by collecting donations for the local Food Bank. The Chippenham Foodbank is run by the The Chippenham Salvation Army. They have seen a huge increase in demand from people who are struggling to afford or access food from employees who have been furloughed, the self-employed whose business has suddenly shut, people unable to work as they are unwell or shielding to people who are self-isolating and are unable to access food.
The Food Bank would be grateful for donations any non-perishable/good dated Christmas food, they also always need any tinned and packaged food for everyday use.
The Chippenham Food bank is open Wednesdays 10am-3pm and Fridays 10am-1pm. They can help anyone who is struggling to afford or access food for as long as necessary. They can also help people self-isolating and can deliver to your home. You don’t need a referral you just need to call them on 01249 655458 or email chippenham@salvationarmy.org.uk.
They understand that reaching out for help can be really hard but if you contact them, they will take some quick information from you and arrange for your food parcel to be delivered or collected if you are well and able.

COVID 19 - What to do if your child has suspected symptoms
Please ensure children do not come into school if they have a new, continuous cough or a high temperature, or has a loss of, or change in, their normal sense of taste or smell (anosmia).
If anyone in the school becomes unwell with a new, continuous cough or a high temperature, or has a loss of, or change in, their normal sense of taste or smell (anosmia), they must be sent home.
You must follow ‘stay at home: guidance for households with possible or confirmed coronavirus (COVID-19), which sets out that they must self-isolate for at least 10 days and should arrange to have a test to see if they have coronavirus (COVID-19). Other members of their household (including any siblings) should self-isolate for 14 days from when the symptomatic person first had symptoms.
