Performance Arts: Theater
Holy Family’s theater program provides opportunities for every student involved to participate as an actor, a stage or sound technician, or both! We produce a variety of productions in a dynamic and creative environment where students learn to take risks and communicate with honesty, clarity, and zeal. Area middle school students are invited to participate in our musical productions. Holy Family graduates are actors in nationally released movies and television dramas, and several work in theater and lighting management.
Visual Arts: Studio Art
Located just steps inside our front door is our expansive art room with a full ceramic studio including a state-of-the-art kiln and a full drawing and painting studio. Students may take art electives from beginning to advanced courses including AP Studio Art. Art Club led by student artists and open to all students with a love of the arts meets weekly after school.
Performance Arts: Instrumental Music
Musicians will find a state-of-the-art band room with acoustic panels and instrument lockers just outside the band classroom. Instrumentalists perform at three music concerts per year and have additional opportunities through jazz night, coffee house performance, and, in the case of the pep band, athletic events. We offer pep band, concert band, jazz band, and various ensemble groups.
Visual Arts: Photography and Video
Photography and video production draw students passionate about visual art and technology. Courses are offered in both areas and student work is often used in school publications, displayed during school, local, and national art shows, and published in the school newspaper and yearbook. Budding and experienced photographers and videographers will learn and expand their skills continually in class and through helpful feedback.
Performance Arts: Vocal Music
Holy Family’s vocal music program has a long tradition of excellence and opportunity. Curriculum offerings include Freshman Chorus, Camerata, Chorale, and Vocal Jazz. Co-curricular opportunities include vocal jazz ensemble Voices of Fire, female acapella groups as well as unique ensembles created by student interest and talent. The choirs and ensembles perform at three concerts each year: fall, Christmas, and spring.
