The Promise

Thank you Lord for your favor! We had our final inspection for our school and we got our license with the Department of Education. Right after, Tammy took this picture. She was standing at the back of the girls' house and the rainbow perfectly frames the new school, church and boys' house...with our beautiful Narra tree....I don't think I've ever seen a rainbow there, and for sure never a complete one. So cool. The promise.

Graduation Day

We are so thankful to all of our sponsors and supporters over the years. It all started about 10 years ago and as we think back over the years we just can't express how thankful we are. So many kids we have been helped and are well on their way to fulfilling their dreams.

When Tammy and I (Jack) decided to move to the Philippines in 2009, we decided that if we changed just two lives, our lives would be well spent. This year Albert graduated college as a teacher. He's been with us from the beginning and I'm tearing up right now just thinking about the journey. He is no longer an Arise kid, he's an amazing young man with incredible potential poised to change the world.

Our Arise graduates from Elementary and Junior High school! These kids have beaten odds and have worked really hard for this accomplishment. We are incredibly proud of them.

Family

Some of the children's families were able to visit for their graduations. It was a time of pure joy and excitement as they were able to spend some quality time together. Praise God for this blessing.

Growing with God

Growing with people

We went to the indigent ward of the local government hospital with a team that visited us from Australia. We were able to share some grocery items and were given the opportunity to pray for the patients and their families.

Here Jamil led the team in praying for this little girl who was suffering from stomach pain for few days.

We also went up to the mountain and helped some of the tribal people. We prepared bags with rice, can goods, noodles and clothes for the families living in the village. They gave us a tour of their beautiful village and even met their oldest member who is over 100 years old!

Adonia Musical Camp

Here are our children playing the lead roles during the Adonia musical camp.They studied and learned about what it means to love a friend.

Summer Time!!!

Philippine summer time (which is March through May) is terribly hot with temperatures over 100 degrees many days. Our children enjoyed every splash of water and some physical activities and fun.

We enjoyed the fresh and cold water of the river.

We were also given the opportunity to see the movies twice this summer! What a treat...the movie theater is so nice and cold!!!

Prayer points:

Our new school, the Lovelace Academy, began this June! Please pray that we have a great start to the school year.
Charlene Chapin and her two grandsons, Isaiah and Harold, have joined our team here at Arise! Charlene will be the principal of Lovelace Academy. Please keep them in your prayers as they transition to this new country and their new roles.
Please keep our staff and children in your prayers. That the Lord keeps them healthy and safe and that they truly know how much God loves them and cares for them.
Jack is still struggling with his health. Please pray that God heals his body and he can get back to his normal duties.
Please pray for the provision of Lovelace Academy so that we can support our teachers and provide a high quality education to the students.
