The Rebel Report November 6, 2017

It's hard to believe, but we've reached the end of the 1st quarter! Your students have done a terrific job so far demonstrating our Larson pillars of Respect, Responsibility, Resilience, and Relationships. 1st Marking period Report Cards will be available very soon.

The 2nd quarter brings a deeper dive into the content of their classes. As the material becomes more challenging, your student's effort must increase as well! Please encourage your student(s) to reach out to their teachers or counselor if any additional assistance is required.

Lastly, I hope your student has been involved in a sport or club during their time here or plan to do so soon. Kids who are connected to their school perform better in school! A complete listing of our clubs is available on our website at the link above.

Building/Site Sinking Fund -- Vote Tuesday!

The BSSF will address items such as lockers and broken concrete.

Next Tuesday, you will be asked to decide on an important issue. The Troy School District is asking voters to consider a 1 mill Building and Site Sinking Fund. This fund would be created at NO INCREASE TO YOUR CURRENT TAX RATE and would allow us to make necessary repairs and refurbishments to Larson and the rest of our TSD schools. If you have questions about this proposal, there is plenty of information and a FAQ link on the TSD website (link below). For more information, click on the link below.

Parking Lot Drop-off Reminders

Parents, a friendly reminder to use great caution when dropping off in the morning, especially when it is dark. Only use the RIGHT lane to drop off your student. The LEFT lane is for teachers to access the staff lot in front of the building and is not for drop-off traffic. Lastly, know that you may drop off your student as early as 7:20 am. You will find traffic is much lighter during this time! Thanks in advance for ensuring all of our students arrive to school safely.

7th/8th Grade Athletic Tryouts

Two interscholastic sports will be starting next week. A current physical must be on file before your student may participate in try-outs. Please note that cuts will likely be made to determine the final roster for these teams. Those students that make each team will need to complete the Pay-to-Participate fee. If you have any questions, please contact the coaches below.
