By taking the same features of the helmet, we are able to design a headband for soccer players to reduce the risk of concussions.

Protective head gear like the Zero1 Vicis will help prevent individuals from concussions. This helmet is a multilayered flexible helmet which is adaptable to different head shapes and sizes. This helmet is designed to reduce the impact of rotational and and linear forces. The lode shell layer absorbs the impact by destructing another layer of the helmet. The Core layer bends and buckles which decreases the rotational and linear impacts. The arch shell is the interior of the helmet, and the form liner (last layer) distributes the pressure of the impact around the head equally. By having improvements on head gear like the Zero 1 Vicis, the result of the impact of the hit is less forceful which will lower the concussion rate.

  • The NFHS Sports-Related Injury Surveillance study of 2012-2013 indicated 101,586 concussions for the year
  • After the first concussion, the risk of a second one increases by a factor of four
