Following her profession of vows, Sister Bridget went to Kodiak, Alaska in 1976 to teach the students of St. Mary's School. She was there twice, from 1976-1983 and again from 1988-1999. The in-between years found her in different ministries, at the Christian Brothers retreat Center, working as a Director of Religious Education at Gesu Church and teaching at Ancilla-Assumpta Academy. Other teaching time was spent in Lowell, MA, Stratford, PA and Ogdensburg, NY.
Since 2001, Sister Bridget has been a professor at Notre Dame of Maryland University teaching others how to become teachers. Along with forming future teachers, Sister Bridget is a published author of educational theory books, numerous professional papers, and journal articles.

Like many of us, even after many successful years in ministry, Sister Bridget admits that she resonates with the following words of Thomas Merton:
"My Lord God, I have no idea where I am going. I do not see the road ahead of me. I cannot know for certain where it will end. Nor do I really know myself, and the fact that I think that I am following your will does not mean that I am actually doing so. But, I believe that the desire to please you does in fact please you..."
Thank you, Sister Bridget Mary Connor for your years of dedicated service to the formation of professional educators and to the Grey Nuns of the Sacred Heart. None of us knows where the future will lead, but we are happy to stand in this moment with you, to celebrate all that you have done, and to dream of what the future holds.
