As the prairie grasses crunch beneath your boots and the crisp, morning air meets your face, it is exhilarating to know you’re experiencing South Dakota pheasant hunting at its finest. Among these meadows, cornfields, river bluffs, creek bottoms and rolling hillsides, you’ll find North America’s largest population of Chinese Ring-necked Pheasant.

Sought after for its phenomenal upland bird hunting, extended season, and diverse habitat, Cheyenne Ridge Signature Lodge is the first sporting venue to ever receive a Beretta Trident. The family-owned lodge provides a setting for field sports that makes pheasant hunting in South Dakota especially rewarding. When considering South Dakota hunting lodges, hunters prefer Cheyenne Ridge Signature Lodge for numerous reasons, including its 33 guest rooms and suites. Comfortably appointed, each is designed for single occupancy and has a private bath.

Awaken to the sun shining brightly on iridescent cock pheasants feeding in the groomed food plots in front of the Lodge. Grab a cup of fresh made coffee and enjoy a country breakfast fit for king before meeting your guides and hunt manager for your daily safety meeting.

Walk outside to await your guides, dogs and field transportation. Take in the open skies, the endless horizon, and the beauty of the seemingly infinite rolling prairies. You will understand immediately what makes people come here from all over the world to pheasant hunt.

Your pheasant hunting experience with us starts the moment you gather your guns and gear from your private locker and head out on that first morning hunt. All of our staff are professional and attentive – more than eager to share their knowledge that comes with vast years of experience in this rich land. Accompanied by the equally experienced and energized canine corps, they ensure that your days afield will be fun and successful – that each guest will have the tools to bring back a limit. Unlimited ammunition, Beretta shotguns – in case you forgot yours – and a sky filled with pheasants make it a ‘hunt of a lifetime”.

No one else in the world does pheasant hunting better than we do at our South Dakota Venue.

A rugged countryside of rolling prairies, pastures, hills and river bluffs flowing into endless meadows and sloughs all teeming with the King of upland birds: the Chinese Ringneck Pheasant.

Our Venue is located in the center of this sporting nirvana commonly referred to as the “Golden Triangle” in South Dakota.

Cheyenne Ridge is open mid-September through mid-December. We recommend that our clients take advantage of the September through December season to avoid the bitter cold and snow that South Dakota is famous for in January and February.

From the moment you enter the Lodge at our venue the common denominator is “first class” all the way. With over 25,000 square feet of amenity-filled luxury to enjoy, our Venue can meet the expectations of the most discerning sportsmen. Our packages are all inclusive to include private, single occupancy accommodations for each guest, all meals, wines and cordials, cigars, use of our 5-stand shooting complex, gym, sauna, jacuzzi, and spa. No detail is spared to make guests feel pampered and cared for.

Hunters can fly into Pierre, SD regional airport (PIR) via connections through Denver, CO. Upon arrival guests will be met by lodge staff and transported privately 20 minutes to the lodge. We also recommend that personal aircraft land at Pierre airport with Mustang Aviation. Other regional airports would include Sioux Falls, SD which is a three hour drive to our Venue.

The climate in South Dakota can range from extremely hot during the early September season to well below freezing during the winter months. During the October and November hunting season expect daytime highs in the 50’s to low 70’s and morning lows in the upper 20’s to mid 40’s.

Our all-inclusive pheasant hunting packages include:

  • Transportation to and from the Pierre, SD regional airport
  • Fully guided hunts with professional guides and well-trained flushing dogs
  • Single occupancy lodging with queen beds and private bath
  • All meals and hors d’oeuvres prepared by our award winning Executive Chef
  • Paired, vintage wines, premium beers, top shelf liquors, and fine cigars
  • Beretta semi-auto shotguns at no charge
  • Unlimited shotgun shells for sporting clays and hunting

While we can accommodate any length of stay to hunt pheasants with us three of our most popular packages are as follows:

4 Nights / 3 Days Hunting – $5200.00 per hunter

3 Nights / 2 Days Hunting – $4175.00 per hunter

2 Nights / 1 Day Hunting – $2470.00 per hunter

Daily maximum: 20 roosters per person with no overage charges
