An Evening at Rancho Soñado with the National Pecan Shellers Association

Green Valley Pecan Company hosted the National Pecan Shellers Association at a reception and dinner as part the Mid-Winter Meeting, held in Tubac, Ariz., March 22-24. More than 120 people gathered at Rancho Soñado in Amado, the home of Dick and Nan Walden, owners of Green Valley Pecan Company.

Following a full day of forums and exhibits from some of the industry leaders, guests were treated to a barbecue dinner at the foot of the Santa Rita Mountains.

In addition to its close proximity to Green Valley Pecan Company’s 7,000 acres of pecan trees, Rancho Soñado is home to several award-winning Arabian horses.

Nan and Dick Walden shared their passion and knowledge for horses with the crowd!

The Waldens shared their passion for horses by giving guests an Arabian horse demonstration. Nan rode her Half-Arabian pinto gelding, Stars and Stripes SF +//, an eight-time National Champion. Shayla Leacock, a trainer at Rancho Soñado, also participated in the demonstration. She rode Duns Smokey Lady+/, a Half-Arabian grey mare and a two-time National Champion.

NPSA meeting attendees had the unique opportunity to experience some of what makes the Southwest special.
The red checkered tablecloths and napkins, the company branded coffee mugs, the bright colored carnations and the pecan sampler trays that were placed in each table, together they created a very inviting setting!
