Students who work with University of Notre Dame's Center for Social Concerns, and who traveled to Holy Cross international missions through the ND International Summer Service Learning Program, shared their encounters at the missions with fellow students, donors, and guests.
Sharing our encounters makes the missions come alive!
All who attended were invited to enter the free Door Prize drawing and had the chance to take home handmade items from Holy Cross international apostolates.
The Door Prize baskets included a scarf and table runner made by men and women at a Holy Cross parish in Bangladesh on a loom, a nativity screen handmade by disabled Ugandan artists, and a selection of Holy Cross books.
An array of tasty foods, including pulled pork slides, mac n' cheese, chips and salsa, fresh made guacamole, delicious fruits and cheeses, and seemingly endless amount of desserts and sweets were enjoyed by all!
A special thank you to Amanda McKee, the Eck Visitor Center staff, Catering by Design and VenueND for all their help with our event - we couldn't have done without you!
Fr. Mike DeLaney, C.S.C., Director of the Holy Cross Mission Center gave a special 30-minute presentation about the HCMC including its history, where and who we serve, our future, and the newly announced Four Cornerstones, which reflect the important mission work of Holy Cross around the world and build upon the traditional ministries of the Congregation — education, parish, mission.
"All of us are involved in the mission... All of us as a single brotherhood are joined in one communal response to the Lord’s mission."
