My Traveling Experience #jetlag

Day 1: Islam

The Temple of Ka'ba and an Islamic man praying

It is Day 1 of my traveling and my first destination is Saudi Arabia. The reason I am here is to study the most sacred and architectural places for the religion of Islam. The Ka'ba in Mecca, Saudi Arabia is the most sacred place in Islam and that is where I am now. The building is a square building made out of black stone, which is a part of the Islam tradition. There is also a ton of gold all around the stone of the building. I is so crowded around The Holy Ka'ba, I have never seen anything like it. The Islam religion only believes in one God, so all the people are yelling and worshipping to their one God. A lot of people are wearing white, long robes which is apart of one of their cultures as a religion. The area around The Holy Ka'ba is huge, but the building itself is not as big as I thought it would be but it is still very pretty.

Day 2: Buddhism

The Lumbini Temple

Today is my second day of traveling and I am at one of the holy sites of Buddhism. I am at the holy site called Lumbini, which is situated at the foothills of the Himalayas in Nepal. Lumbini is a beautiful big holy sites with a lot of beautiful scenery around it. There is a big garden full of trees and shady Sal trees all over the place. There is also a little pond in front of the entrance of the holy temple that I see a lot of people sitting by meditating and praising their Gods. Everyone is wearing monks which they wear to worship in. The temple itself is very plain and white with a few windows on the side of the building. This was a really cool expeirence to see this temple.

Day 3: Christianity

The church

Today I have travelled to the city of Bethlehem to go to the Church of the Nativity. The reason this place is so holy is because it is believed to be the birthplace of Jesus, which is the Lord and Savior for all christians. As I am walking around this gigantic church, many people are on their knees praying and worshipping Jesus. This church is breathtaking. It is obviously old so it has an antique, golden look that is very beautiful. The outside is very plain and simple but the inside is very pretty with a lot of paintings inside. It was really cool seeing all the church of where Jesus was born.

Day 4: Hinduism

The body of water the temple is on and the Temple

It is day four and I am at the Varansi Temple also known as the Benares Temple located in India. It is a massive temple and it is right on a body of water. It is one of the most famous Hindu temples and is dedicated to Lord Shiva, which is one of the Gods they believe in. The temple kinda looks like a real life sand castle. Its the same color as sand and has very tiny but many little decorations, designs, and meanings carved into the building. There are people all around the temple doing different things. Some people are in the water some are meditating near the peaceful water and the rest is in the temple worshipping. The hindu men wear a dhoti Kurt and the women wear a sari, both are two very cool, creative pieces of clothing. The people here seem very nice and peaceful which is something I like.

Day 5: Judaism

The Temple Mount in Jerusalem & Guys wearing Kippahs

Today is my last and final day and I am kinda excited because I am ready to get home!! I am at The Temple Mount in Jerusalem. The golden roof stands out amongst the rest of the buildings in the city. The Jewish men all wear kippahs which are tiny hats and they all have long beards. The building is a trapezoid shape walled in area in the southeastern corner of the Old City of Jerusalem. Within the area of the Temple Mount there are about 100 different structures from various periods, among them there are great works of art everywhere. King Solomon built this temple almost 3,000 years ago so it is very antique but still very pretty. This experience of traveling everywhere was a lot of fun and I got to see a lot of cool different things that I have never seen before.
