Reflect on the ministry of Jesus from a boat on the Sea of Galilee, walk the streets of Capernaum, read the Sermon on the Mount from a hillside in Galilee, and stand below the rock cliffs at Caesarea Philippi. In Judea walk in the Garden of Gethsemane, visit the temple mount, move along the base of the ancient western wall of the temple, and view the ancient city of Jerusalem from the top of the Mount of Olives. Also visit a major launching point for the Gospel - Caesarea Maritime, visit other sites such as Jericho, Qmroan, Dead Sea, Samaria and Masada.
Sample Itinerary - Subject to change based on tour guide's discretion
Day 1 (November 2): Arrive in Israel - Check in to Hotel
Day 2: The Gentile Pentecost: Visit Caesarea Maritima, Mt. Carmel, Lunch at a Druze Village, Tel-Megiddo and Mt. Arbel.
Day 3: Becoming a Disciple of Jesus: Visit the Mt. of Beatitudes, listen to teaching on the Sermon on the Mount, visit Tabgha-Church of the Primacy of St. Peter and the lakeshore of Capernaum. Take a boat ride on the Sea of Galilee and visit the Yardenit Baptismal site.
Day 4: Nazareth and Golan Heights: Visit Banias and Caesarea Philippi, tour Nazareth Village to experience life in Jesus' time, visit the Mt. Precipice and visit with local Young Life leaders at a local school.
Day 5: Jericho and the Jordan Valley: Cross the Jordan River, visit Qumran, visit and have lunch in Jericho with teaching under a sycamore tree, enjoy floating in the Dead Sea. Over dinner learn about ministry and the local custom of the shabbat dinner.
Day 6: The Desert as a Refuge: Visit Masada by cable car, hike Ein Gedi and relax in the hotel's private pools and spas.
Day 7: Welcome to Jerusalem: Walk through the City of David - the Dry Tunnel and the Siloam Pool, visit Mount Zion and the upper room and Caiphas' House. Tour the Jewish quarter and see the Cardo, Broad Wall and Golden Menorah. Also tour the Kotel Tunnel and the Western Wall.
Day 8: The Word Became Flesh: Visit the Mount of Olives for a panoramic view of the city and visit the private Garden of Gethsemane. A tour of the Church of the Nativity, the traditional birthplace of Jesus and the Shepherds Fields, where the angels announced the birth of Jesus.
Day 9 (November 10): Last Day in Jerusalem: Visit the Pools of Bethesda and the Church of St. Anne. Walk along the Via Dolorosa through the crowded market streets. Visit the Holy Sepulcher church, the traditional site of Calvary and Golgotha, and the garden tomb. End the day with a farewell dinner and depart for home late evening with a new appreciation and understanding of the Scriptures.
