Carsen Edwards arrived at Purdue giving the Boilermaker program a weapon it hadn't had in a while. His unique blend of quickness and shooting ability, boosted by an aura of swag and confidence was evident during his entire freshman season. He is only going to get better.
After starring in Purdue's foreign trip to Spain (16.3 PPG, 2.3 APG, 64.9 FG Pct.), Edwards' 18 points in the opener against McNeese State were the most for a Purdue freshman since the 2005-06 opener.
He then broke out in a big way in the Cancun Challenge title game against Auburn, scoring 21 points in 22 minutes, adding two assists and three steals while shooting 7-of-11 from the field and 4-of-5 from long distance.
(PICTURED ABOVE) Earning his first career start against Morehead State on Dec. 3, Edwards made four 3-pointers en route to a 16-point, five-assist, three-rebound effort against the Eagles.
(PICTURED BELOW) Showing no signs of jitters in his first Big Ten game, Edwards scored 19 points with five assists in a win over Iowa in Mackey Arena. Edwards' 19 points were the most by a Purdue freshman in a Big Ten opener since 1981. He scored the first eight points of the contest.
