The First 20 Years: Peterborough's Dragon Boat Festival in Photographs A SPARK Photo Festival showcase exhibit

Twenty years later...plunging paddles and raising funds! The sounds of another Dragon Boat Festival in Peterborough - and for many over the past 20 years - an unofficial raucous start of another summer in the city. Each year since 2001 an average of 1400 dragon boat paddlers decked out in every possible coloured team T-shirt, spandex, and many strange accessories race their hearts out for a common cause: the Breast Assessment Centre at Peterborough Regional Health Centre through the PRHC Foundation.

As remembered through the images of multiple volunteer photographers, the SPARK Showcase Exhibit is curated by Robert Boudreau, and features photography from Robert Boudreau, Sharon Canzi, Peter Curley, Kenneth Powell, Valerie Prussack and André Wardzinski.

Join us for a photographic journey, back in time through the history of Peterborough's Dragon Boat Festival in this virtual exhibit of a sampling of Showcase images. The full print exhibit will be on display during the SPARK Photo Festival in September 2021.
