The projects are part of a 2 year program of work evaluation, novel ingredients and process equipment, along with some creative application techniques, with which we hope to be able to reduce Sugar, Fat and salt in a variety of food category’s, including convenience foods, prepared meals, snacks, breakfast cereals, soups and sauces.

This is an opportunity of a food engineer , whom is interested in Food Processing and Nutrition , The work undertaken is within a team of industry experts and research academics supporting project program, gaining experience in structural formation of foods and assessing how changes may impact formulation , processing techniques and creative application approaches on a wide range of food applications can help main overall quality and consumer acceptability
The intern will plan, manage and deliver a defined program working within a small team based at the University of Nottingham Food Innovation Centre, along with opportunities to visit a number of food processing locations during the course of the internship, it would be expected that the intern would work independently, requiring minimal day to day supervision.
Nottingham has the largest urban population in the East Midlands, 80 minutes from Central London by Train and 15 Minutes to East Midland Airport . The city is vibrant and has a large population of students, so having plenty of accommodation, whilst at the same time is less than 60 minutes from Manchester or Birmingham. We also have the beautiful countryside of the Peak District very close by and you must visit the Historical city of York during your stay.
