Return to Learn Plan Progress - As stated in the Troy School District's Return to Learn Plan, the goal is to return students to in-person learning as quickly as possible, while protecting the health and safety of our students, school staff, and broader community from COVID-19. Kindergarten and first grade in-seat students just completed their first full week. We will be continuing with the timeline shown below, which is based on several factors outlined in our Family Guidebook to best protect the health and safety of all.

  • Monday, October 12 - In-seat students begin for grades 2-3. This is for parents who elected in-seat learning. All other 2-3 students will remain in virtual learning.
  • Monday, October 19 - In-seat students begin for grades 4-5. This is for parents who elected in-seat learning. All other 4-5 students will remain in virtual learning.

Schroeder PTO Support! - Schroeder is fortunate enough to have an active PTO who sponsor programs that enhance Schroeder's core values of kindness, perseverance and respect. The Schroeder PTO has arranged the AmazonSmile fundraiser to help offset the costs of running these enrichment programs. Please read the flyer below and click on this link: smile.amazon.com/ch/38-2124678 to participate. Thank you!

Revised School Schedule - Please be aware that the TSD school schedule as been revised for all elementary schools. ALL students will be in VIRTUAL learning on October 28, 29 and 30. In-seat students will learn virtually on those days. October 28 and 29 are half-days of school for Parent-Teacher Conferences. The virtual half-days will end at noon.

Halloween is Coming! - Since classes will be virtual for all students on October 30, we will be enjoying Halloween a little different this year. Students are invited to wear a Halloween costume on Zoom on October 30. The guidelines for costumes is still the same! As you guide your child in planning a costume, please keep in mind that we would appreciate your cooperation in planning something that is not ghoulish, morbid, or offensive to any culture or particular group of people. Also, no toy guns, knives or weapons are permitted while on Zoom. We encourage parents to continue our costume theme of positive role models. We want to work to provide a positive experience for our students. Thank you for your cooperation!

October Menu Update - The Hummus Bento Box option that was offered for Tuesday, October 20 has been replaced with a Cheese Quesadilla. TSD Food Services was made aware of a sesame oil allergy in one of the TSD elementary schools and has decided to remove hummus and anything made with sesame oil from all elementary school menus moving forward. TSD Food Services is exploring different vegetarian options for our November menu.

Free and Reduced Lunches - Even though school meals are free at this time, parents/guardians who qualify still need to complete the new Free & Reduced Application for the 2020-21 school year. Applications are available in the Schroeder office as well as on the TSD website https://www.troy.k12.mi.us/departments/food-service/free-reduced-lunch-program. Submit completed forms in the drop box outside of the Food Service Office located at 4420 Livernois, Troy.

Employment Opportunity - Schroeder is preparing for when Troy schools transition into a hybrid or in-seat learning environment. Schroeder is looking for a few people to join our Noon Aide team! This is a paid position that involves supervising and assisting our students during lunch and lunch recess on the playground.
