Hope, Faith and a lot of Love
Local Carroll County kids Hope and Faith McGraw celebrated an early birthday for World Wish Day, an annual celebration of the founding of the Make-A-Wish foundation since April 29, 1980. Hope and Faith are both wish kids that live with a very rare chromosomal disorder called Koolen DeVries Syndrome and are one in six wish kids in the country that was granted their wish on Friday, April 29. This early birthday celebration for the twins granted them both their wishes. Hope wished for a tree house while Faith wished to go on an Alaskan cruise.
On Friday, Make-A-Wish Georgia and Toys"R"Us teamed up to make Hope and Faith have a very special day. Vice President of Marketing and Communications for Make-A-Wish Georgia Amy Alvarez said that in the past seven years they have granted 7,000 wishes and has a goal to grant 400 wishes to local wish kids for 2016. However, Alvarez said there is a huge need for community heroes to help the organization, this can entail donating or volunteering. According to Alvarez, there are 750 kids in Georgia waiting on their wishes to be granted. You can find more information about Make-A-Wish Georgia at georgia.wish.org or call 770-916-WISH.
