MIS News May 15th, 2020

The office staff would like your help in recognizing our staff. Please take a few moments and use the link below to provide some encouragement to those folks that are making a major difference in your child's future. These comments can be anonymous, or you can provide your name. The office staff will use the provided comments every Thursday for our #thankfulThursday movement. The attached form can be completed, as little or often as you like, throughout the entire school year. We appreciate your support in growing the culture of gratitude that already exists at MIS!!

A couple of positive comments already submitted:

"Mrs. Reynold's e-learning art lessons are fun and engaging. My daughter is excited each week to see what her assignment will be. When the lesson is done, the pictures are shared with the entire family. Her Nana and Papaw are especially excited to see what she is doing in school since they can't physically spend time with her right now."

"I had Mrs. Beuoy as a teacher a long time ago. She is so amazing with my 4th grader. I love hearing her do Luigi while dancing and singing in her music room. She's making e-learning fun for my daughter. Mrs. Beuoy is definitely the best Music teacher ever!"

Greenfield-Central Schools will adhere to the Governor's announcement that school buildings will remain closed through June 30th, 2020. At this time, non-essential items will remain secured in the building. When arrangements to pick up items are made, our families will be notified. Thanks for your understanding.

TECH News update

Device Return

As shared by Dr. Olin previously, all buildings will remain closed through June 30th, 2020. At this time, we are planning on letting all students hold onto devices until July. In the near future, we will be sharing a plan regarding the collection of devices.

If you are moving away from GC and will not be attending GC Schools next year, you can schedule a drop off time by emailing support@gcsc.k12.in.us. A scheduled drop off can occur anytime after May 22, 2020.

Continued Tech Support Information

If you need tech support for your child's device, please send an email to support@gcsc.k12.in.us stating the student's name, school, and tech issue. The tech department will respond by Google Meet, email, phone, or possibly appointment, if the issue cannot be fixed remotely.

WIFI Access: The tech department has made WIFI available in the south parking lots at both MIS and Eden. A password is not needed should you need to make use of this.

2019-20 Yearbooks

Due to a shutdown at the production plant, it appears it might be late summer prior to us receiving yearbooks this year. It is very likely that you will get these next fall upon our return. We will be sure to work with GCJHS to get them to our current 6th graders. If you happen to be moving away from GC Schools this summer, please get us an address so that we can get it sent to you.
