Orr Rink has been home to the Amherst College ice hockey teams since it was built in 1954. The facility was renovated in 1997 and now has a seating capacity of over 1,000 fans.
The rink is named for Walter S. Orr of the Class of 1912.
The facility includes locker rooms for Amherst men’s and women’s ice hockey, as well as visitor locker rooms, which are also utilized by the baseball team and others competing in the spring at Pratt Field.
At one end of the rink, a second level balcony holds the coach’s offices, meeting and film rooms and a scoring and press area.
The stadium is equipped with a brand-new video board, which has increased player recognition and fan experience.
With its intimate feel, fans attending a game at Orr Rink feel like they are part of the action.
