Stinger Families
As you may or not remember, last Friday we celebrated our Students of the Month. This was not only an excellent time to celebrate great students, but we also were able to use that time to ask questions, discuss, and dream about how we will continue to make Sonoran Trails the best middle school in the state of Arizona! We will continue to listen to our students and make any necessary changes for the betterment of all of our students! Our students are quite intuitive and it truly was such an honor to be able to share this time with them and learn, from their perspective, all about STMS. We are so proud of all of our students and you are the first to thank. It is because of you and what you have done to raise such fine individuals. We will continue to raise the bar academically here at school, celebrate kids, and listen to what our kids need in order to be successful.
NJHS is hosting a food drive beginning Monday, November 1st. All donations will go to the Foothills Food Bank. The school competition will be held through our 4th period classes. The winning class will get a pizza party! Woot! We are hoping every class will participate, even if it is just one item. Let's have some fun while doing a great thing for our community!!
This week, we started our elementary school visits to start welcoming our Future Stingers! It was so much fun meeting our 6th graders at DSA, DWES, and LMES. We will be at HTES and BMES next week! Check out our Facebook page for some fun pictures of our visits. #StingerPride!!!
Have a fabulous weekend!

CCUSD's Remain in School Operational Plan
Please click here to see the CCUSD "remain in school" plan as well as flow charts and guidance from the Maricopa County Health Department regarding COVID-19. Please continue to keep your child home should she/he not feel well. Our teachers are keeping their Google Classrooms up to date so students can complete as much work as possible at home if they are feeling well enough. In addition, every teacher offers office hours either before school, at lunch, or after school. Please take advantage of these opportunities. If your child is going to miss school, we encourage him/her to contact their teachers to let them know that they will be absent. This is a great opportunity for the child to advocate for him/herself.
Counseling Corner
Counseling is focused on ECAP, traveling to different elementary schools, and working with the high school for Future Falcon Fly-In. Below is the office hour schedule for all of our teachers. If your child is in need of additional support, please be sure s/he attends office hours.
Outstanding Stinger Students
Stinger Shining Star Staff Awards
The Stinger Shining Star (SSS) Award is for staff only. The staff is able to nominate their colleagues for showing a commitment to strive, educate, challenge, and encourage all of our students to become thinking, responsible, contributing citizens in an ever-changing world. It's similar to a "caught being good card" for adults. At the end of the month, staff who receive a SSS award get put into a drawing for a gift card to a local business. A win for our staff and a win for a community business that we are supporting! This week's winners are:
Mr. Price- Math Teacher; Ms. Bedwell- Nurse; Ms. Paperman- Math Teacher; Mr. Conklin- Science Teacher; Mr. Larson- PE Teacher; Ms. Watts- Resource Teacher; Mrs. Dolezal- Choir/Guitar Teacher; Ms. Valva- ELA Teacher; Ms. Lindstrom- Resource Teacher; Ms. Heerdt- Art Teacher; Ms. Cunningham- ELA Teacher; Mr. Womack- Band Teacher
