The Faces of Nigeria what you don't know about nigeria

The beautiful flat grassy lands, covered in trees and exotic animals. Sunset with every color pink high purple lows. It's time to wrestle; the drums begin and everyone is in a hypnotic state of bliss surrounded by fruits, vegetables and masks. Two men meet in the center, it's no longer a fight of body, but of mind and spirit. Two souls clash holding nothing behind. These men are part of a larger society, Nigeria.

Contrary to popular assumptions, Nigeria is and has been a civilized country, with their own laws, traditions, agriculture, and social structure. In the novel Things Fall Apart, by Chinua Achebe, it was shown that the many villages in Nigeria are very civilized and have mastered many skills. In modern day Nigeria, the government system is modeled after the United States. Even in the remote villages, they have their own form of judicial structure. Many Nigerians have perfected farming techniques, some 60% of Nigeria's 167 million people are farmers. Nigerian festivals contain dancing and many colors, and are celebrated widely throughout Nigeria.

Many people think that the people of Nigeria are uncivilized, but this is not true. Just because traditions, social structures and festivals are different, people assume that they are uncivilized. Festivals and traditions show that Nigerians have a rich history and pass down ancestral history and knowledge through each generation. Agriculture is a big part of Nigerian lifestyle, they have perfected many techniques for farming in that area of the world. In the past each village had different judicial structures that worked for them, but now in the modern day they have adopted the American style of government. The social structure of Nigeria shows that the social part of Nigeria is just like any other country. Nigeria is more civilized than they receive credit for.
