state basketball lincoln, nebraska

Sports photography has never been my forte, but the past two weekends have turned into my pastime. Boys and girls teams from across Nebraska competed in the state basketball tournament at the Pinnacle Bank Arena in downtown Lincoln. Here are some favorites.

I tend to shoot the cheerleaders just as much as I do the players....

That moment when the opponent makes the free throw to tie up the game...
And a few action shots...

Spent a lot of time in the locker room...

and watching teenagers scream until they turn blue....

Alliance, Nebraska, fans travelled six hours to watch this game.

The Winnebago basketball team not only brought their A-game, but they also gave us a taste of their beautiful culture, too.

I witnessed theĀ joy of victory

and the sting of disappointment

and apparently they actually do cut the nets after the game- it's not just in the movies. And yeah, I clearly never made it to state in high school.

Thanks for looking. -Calla
