Star Story - Nolan Legg

Nolan Legg - Quality Control

Our Selecto Star for this month is Nolan Legg. Nolan works in our Assembly Dept. and maintains Quality Control for Selecto.

Recently Nolan took the initiative to sign up for classes to obtain a Water Specialist certification from the Water Quality Association (WQA). Certified water treatment professionals are individuals who have completed a voluntary credentialing process through WQA's Professional Certification Program. To become a WQA certified professional, the candidate must pass a comprehensive examination and accept WQA's Code of Ethics for the Water Quality Improvement Industry. WQA's program tests and certifies only individuals, not dealerships or companies. Great job Nolan, we are so proud of you and your accomplishment!

Workplace Wellness

George and Bash at work

George and Bash are Selecto’s office dogs. They provide sweet canine therapy for Selecto’s office dwellers. George (French Bulldog) is the elder statesman at 2 years old. Bash (Cavalier King Charles Spaniel) is still a puppy, just 6 months old. Hard days at work are no match for the joy they bring to the office. Their romping play delights all that come in contact with them.

Study: Office Dogs Reduce Work-Related Stress A recent study from the Virginia Commonwealth University found that employees who brought their dogs to work experienced lower stress levels throughout the work day, reported higher levels of job satisfaction, and had a more positive perception of their employer. Safety First

The safety of our employees is the number one priority at Selecto. You never know when an accident might happen so we decided to get prepared. Recently, 3 members of Selecto’s Safety Team attended a training event at the American Red Cross. Dr. Cang Li, Tim Owens and Sharon Craddock trained and earned certifications for First Aid, CPR, and AED training. Their certifications are good for 2 years.

ATLANTA FALCONS MAKE THE SUPERBOWL!

The Atlanta Falcons, after an 11-5 record, finished the season as one of the two best teams in the NFC this year. Then the Falcons defeated the Packers to advance to Super Bowl LI as the NFC champions. The Falcons had not made it to the Superbowl since 1995. The entire Atlanta area was buzzing. Selecto wanted to get into the Super Spirit and show how excited we were to be Falcons fans. On the Friday before Super Bowl Sunday, Selecto had a Falcons party complete with Wings, Chili, Nachos and Salsa. It was quite a spread! We all wore Falcons gear, even George dressed up for the party.

Although we lost the game, we showed our spirit and support for our Falcons! Can’t wait for next season!
