GEOGRAPHY
The middle colonies had rich soil. It was good for farming crops such a wheat, corn, rye, Hemp, and flax. The summers were hot and moist, and there was mild winters. There was timber, furs, and coals. The middle colonies were called the bread basket colonies because of their fertile soil, and they were ideal for farming.
