Science Quest by cierra goodwin

5-LS2-1. Develop a model to describe the movement of matter among plants, animals, decomposers, and the environment.

As a student I will have you conduct some research and then you will create your own model in class on how the movement of matter affects plants and animals within our environment. To first understand How a food chain works watch the video below to gain some understanding. and visit some of the other video's and websites provided.

Within this next website url learn what producers and consumers are and how important is each within our ecosystem.

In this next portion on the web quest you should be able to tell me what carnivores and herbivores are and are there any carnivorous plants? If so could you find more information about them?

For the Brain Pop link I want you to go to the gamefinder tab and play The food Chain Game for 5 minutes and if you want to keep playing you can always look up this webquest at home too.

This last video will help you learn about the importance of decomposers within our ecosystem.

Describe what a food chain is and then create your own food chain using any app or website to let your creativity flow. Also tell me what is most important about decomposers within our food chain?

After you have completed this web quest you should be able to answer all of these questions and have an accurate food chain diagram with definitions of each (consumers, producers, decomposers) to show me what you have learned.
