Owens Community College Hailey miller

Owens Community College

Located in Toledo, Ohio

Mascot pictured is Big E

I chose this school because it is directly affiliated with University of Toledo, which is where I plan to transfer. It will be less expensive to go here for two years. It also has my prefered major. This is my second choice behind University of Arizona. This school interests me because it is far from home but only by a couple hours, also because it is not too big and the acceptance rate is 100%.

It takes approximately 2 hours and 11 minutes to get to Toledo, without traffic. It is 120 miles away from Hilliard.

At this College 44% of students are male and 55% are female. Graduation rate is 8% transfer rate is 17%. There’s no greek life. It is very cost effective and very close to downtown toledo, which is a large city. A popular attraction is the Toledo zoo.

Most Popular

Liberal Arts and Humanities is their most popular department

My choice

Alternative Energy - Photovoltaic Technology, AAS (Owens Code: AEPT) I am interested in this major because not a lot of colleges offer an alternative energy major and it will help with my longterm goal of creating a sustainable community.

Admission requirements

There is no admission requirements, the acceptance rate is 100%

Off Campus Housing

No housing is provided

There is no meal plan offered

Restaurants nearby

Final Cut Steak & Seafood

Real Seafood Company

The Cafe

Cabo Loco Mexi-Bar & Burgers

There is not much campus involvement with community colleges

There's no Greek life

But Owens loves its sports and so do the students

I conclude that this College would be a good fit for me due to its location and its cost effectiveness.
