Together We Zot
We take tremendous pride in our proactive engagement efforts with you on campus, whether it be through our educational workshops, informal interactions on campus, or inviting you to attend our six-week interactive community police academy.
When there's a trusting partnership between our police department and you, we can collectively benefit from crime reduction and enhance campus safety.
Coffee with a Cop
Join us for a cup of joe! Coffee with a Cop is designed to encourage conversations between our officers and you.
These fun coffee stations take place at various campus locations, including UCI Health, allowing you to casually approach our officers to chat.
Fun Fact: Nearly 25% of our officers are UCI graduates - so don't be shy in asking who was their favorite professor!

Community Police Academy
Our Community Police Academy will offer you a special behind-the-scenes look at our operations where you'll gain fascinating insights into our work so that you can help us with innovative solutions for concerns relating to crime, fear of crime, and current challenges.
The academy is offered three times per year, so lookout for a campuswide Zotmail invitation during the Winter, Fall, and Spring quarters!
I truly enjoyed participating in the UCI Community Police Academy program. It was so eye opening. This class gave an inside look at the situations and dangers PD Officers encounter on a day to day basis. It also gave a look at how UCI PD is there for you in times of crisis and how they work with the community and other first responders. - J. Barbera
University Hills Movie in the Park
Each summer at Gabrielino Park, we partner with the University Hills HRB for a fun-filled evening of delicious BBQ - cooked and served by our staff - while you and your family catch up with our officers and explore static displays of our police vehicles.
As the sun slowly sets beneath the horizon, we invite everyone to sit back, relax, and grab a bucket of popcorn as a family-friendly movie begins playing on the giant, outdoor inflatable movie screen.
We eagerly look forward to seeing you at our next BBQ!
Standing with Anteaters to Foster Engagement and Responsibility (SAFER) Program is designed to foster engagement between you and our officers.
Each of our police sergeants is assigned to a specific area of UCI with the purpose of engaging with you to solve problems and streamline our responses to your needs.
Alcohol Awareness Program
Our officers regularly meet with students to share alcohol facts and ways to safely celebrate their time at UCI.
We understand the college lifestyle. It's a time to study, grow, and form new lifelong friendships. Our goal is to simply ensure you remain healthy and safe so you can continue to experience the extraordinary life of being a proud Anteater.

Every October, our officers host a Trunk-or-Treat evening at the University Hills Community Center - a free event for all families in the neighborhood.
Decorated with ghoulish themes and lights, our police cars are ready for little princesses and superheros to explore as they receive candy and other treats from our officers.
Holiday Toy Drive
We always look forward to our annual holiday tradition where we coordinate a teddy bear and toy drive to bring a little joy to children receiving care at UCI Health and other Orange County children's organizations.
We're incredibly blessed each year to receive the generous support from our UCI community who donate hundreds of toys and teddy bears to the drive.
Ever curious to know what our 9-1-1 communications center looks like? Fulfill that curiosity as we extend a warm invitation to you to come tour our police department and learn about the responsibilities of our team while meeting our personnel and observing our daily operations.
Ride Along Program
Our Ride Along Program is perhaps one of the most exciting programs we offer. In this eye-opening experience, you're in the front seat as you observe our day and our interactions, all while learning about the law enforcement process. We encourage you to ask us as many questions as you can during your ride along!
Whether you're simply curious or aspire to work in law enforcement, it's a phenomenal way for you to experience a day-in-the life of a UCI police officer.
My experience in the Ride Along Program was very informative and enjoyable! Officer Bessolo happily answered the multitude of questions I had and walked me through various procedures officers follow while on patrol. I had the opportunity to see him respond swiftly to a real-time incident and witness how officers interact with other first responders. - S. Scuro
