November 8th and 9th the No. 20 ranked UNO Mavericks took on the No. 12 ranked Wisconsin Badgers at Baxter Arena.
Hyping up Baxter
Friday night did not go as planned for the Mavericks. With only 2 goals scored, the Badgers took over the ice with a final score of 5-2.
Mavs & Badgers
Saturday night, 7:00 pm, 6,411 fans, the Mavericks took on the Badgers once again. This time the Mavs hoped for the win.

Taylor Ward, a sophomore forward from Kelowna, British Columbia, scored the opening goal for the Mavs at 10 minutes and 45 seconds. This was Ward’s third goal of his sophomore season.
Heading into the Second Period
Sooner than later, the Badgers were catching up. The score was tied 27 seconds after the Mavs goal. The 1st period had finally come to an end with the score 1-1. This period may not have gone the way the Mavs had wanted, but they outshot Wisconsin 12-9.
During the period break, the Omaha Little Lancers took on the ice in a quick and intense scrimmage against each other.
High Fives for All
Only 1 minute and 57 seconds into the second period Kevin Conley, a junior forward, made the goal after the puck reflected off the Wisconsin goalkeeper. Rapidly, Joey Abate shot a goal with 12 minutes and 18 seconds left in the second period making the score 3-1. Wisconsin did not give up. They made a goal with 4 minutes and 31 seconds left in the second.
After many fights, penalties and goals, the Mavs ended the game with a score of 5-2 defeating the No. 12 Wisconsin Badgers. The Mavs now prepare to take on Western Michigan this weekend hoping to keep their winning streak alive.
