Day 1: Welcome to Guatemala

At the airport, a drive will be waiting transfer you to Antigua for hotel accommodations. Antigua is among the world’s best conserved colonial cities in the Americas. It is a magic and captivating small town that makes you feel time might have stopped 300 years ago. - 2 nights in double standard room @ Meson de Maria

Day 2: Antigua 1/2 Day Tour & Cooking Class

Enjoy an American breakfast at the hotel. After breakfast, a guide will unlock the secrets and hidden gems of the former colonial capital of the Spanish Empire – Antigua! This walking tour will take in the main highlights of this ancient city, from the hustle and bustle of the atmospheric Central Park to the secret passageways of the many crumbling colonial convents and churches. In the afternoon, you will join a cooking class where you learn to make one main dish, three side dishes and a dessert. All of the food is 100% Guatemalan cuisine. After cooking, enjoy the fruits of your labor. (B,D)

Day 3: Peanut Butter Workshop & Lake Atitlan

After breakfast transfer to San Miguel Escobar town for a Peanut butter tour. Enjoy eating your favorite peanut butter?! Learn how to make it fresh from scratch at the home of a peanut farmer on the slope of Agua volcano. You'll learn about the basics of peanut farming and how to make it at home. Your own peanut butter will not have added sugars, salt, oil or preservatives! After the tour, transfer to Lake Atitlan for hotel accommodations. Day 4: Kayak, Tzununa Hike & San Juan Village Tour

Today after breakfast take a boat transfer to Santa Cruz to gear up for your kayak excursion. You will paddle for approximately 45 minutes along the lake's peninsulas, admiring the shore's beautiful gardens. The views are spectacular with three stunning volcanoes, Atitlan, San Pedro, and Toliman.
After kayaking you will start the hike to Tzununa. The north shore of Lake Atitlan Guatemala has no true road access, so you will be hiking along ancient paths that have been used by the Kachekel Maya for centuries. Lunch is included at a local venue. After lunch, transfer to San Juan for a Village tour. San Juan la Laguna is famous for its naïf art galleries, town murals and natural dyes textiles. This town is set as an example of organization and tourism destination among the highlands. (B,L)

Day 5:Chichicastenango market & flight to Peten

American breakfast at hotel. After breakfast your guide will meet you at the lobby of the hotel for your transfer to Chichicastenango. On arrival your guide will show you the church which is important and iconic monument for the indigenous and Mayan history itself. If you’re lucky you will also witness special ceremonies and mix of religions. After the tour, transfer to Guatemala City for local flight to Peten. On arrival to Peten, transfer to hotel. day 6: Morning at Leisure & Yaxha Sunset Tour

Enjoy a morning at leisure. At noon, transfer to Yaxha archeological site. This site is a mixture of archeology, beautiful landscapes and ecological tourism. With more than 500 structures in the site, including 40 stele, 13 altars and 9 pyramids this site is a must when visiting the area. Watch an amazing sunset on top of a pyramid. After the tour, transfer back to your hotel. (B)

day 7: tikal mayan ruins

transfer to a local venue for breakfast. Once you are ready you will transfer be taken to Tikal National Park. Your guide will show you the layout of the temples, architecture, history, some theories of why the Mayans disappeared and if you are lucky a few monkeys, parrots, macaws and toucans will be on site. After the tour, enjoy lunch at a restaurant in the middle of the jungle. After lunch, transfer back to your hotel. (B,L)

day 8: Morning flight & departure

Take breakfast at your hotel int the Morning, then meet your pick up in the lobby for a transfer to local airport. Catch your flight back to Guatemala City. Arrange for another overnight or catch an afternoon flight home. (B)
