LES NEWS May 2020

A Note from the Principal's Desk

Well, this year is definitely ending very different than we expected. I know this has been a very trying time for all of us, but I want thank all of our parents and teachers for working together over the last several weeks to give our students the best education possible during these unexpected times. The saying, "It takes a village," has been very evident. Lastly, I want to thank our students. This has been very hard on our little ones for they do not completely understand what is going on in our world right now. They have persevered and have done the best they can! I wish you all well and have a great summer!

Important Information

PAWS Daycare - Summer Information

PAWS Daycare will remain closed until Monday, July 8, 2020. We will make a decision in June whether the Daycare will be open during July based on the Governor's assessment of our state and advice from both state and local health departments . Any payments that have been made will be credited to your child's account. If we are unable to open in July and your child is a 4th grade student, we will send reimbursement checks at that time. We are very sorry for the inconvenience but will continue to put the safety of our students and staff first.

Helpful Resources & Activities for Families

Youth First has created an excellent list of resources for families to cope during this difficult time. The resources include a variety of activities that you can do together as a family and there are also resources to help students who are struggling emotionally with all of the change in our world right now. The resources are sorted by specific age groups. We hope you find these useful for your family during these trying times!
