Daviess County Boys Basketball 2016-2017 Season

Throughout the 2016-2017 season, our players have excelled in activities both on and of the basketball court. We are proud of the purpose-driven attitude that our players display as young men of character.

Early in the season, the team participated in a canned food drive to benefit Daviess County High School families.

The team participated in the Trash-for-Cash program to volunteer to clean up litter from county roads.

The Panthers hosted their 2nd Annual Golf Scramble at Panther Creek Golf Club in September.

Senior Tyler Boling was named the Fall 2016 Daviess County High School Homecoming King.

Nick Driskill, Hassan Green, and Seth Fenwick participated in the Relay for Life Mud Run 5K at Diamond Lake with Coach Hayden and Coach Pippin.

We hosted the 2016 Toy Drive in memory of Jordan Grace Hayden in December to benefit Norton's Children Hospital in Louisville, KY. The team delivered the toys on a trip to Fairdale High School, just in time for the holiday season.

Throughout the season, members of the team visited the "Panther Club" at Highland Elementary School.

The purpose of the “Panther Club” is for DCHS Boys Basketball players to build mentoring relationships with young students. The hope is that these relationships will encourage the students to follow the purpose driven approach that is a cornerstone of the DCHS Boys Basketball Program.

Over Christmas Break, the Panthers played in the Magnolia Bank Holiday Classic in LaRue County, KY. The Panthers won the tournament.

Jay Owen, Tyler Boling, and Blake Boswell were named to the All-Tournament Team at the Magnolia Bank Holiday Classic.

The Panthers beat Owensboro Catholic High School in a double overtime game.

Panther basketball legend, Bobby Rascoe, visited with the team before and after a victory against Greenwood High School in Bowling Green, KY.

Junior Jay Owen hit six three pointers during that game.
