Ellen Degeneres

Ellen Lee Degeneres was born January 26, 1958 in Jefferson Parish, LA. Her father was a salesman and her mom was a therapist but soon after she was born, her parents divorced when Ellen was a teenager. When she was growing up, she wanted to be a veterinarian but that thought ended because she thought she wasn't smart enough for that occupation.

In 1997 she came out as gay and became an advocate for LGBT rights. Ellen has her own talk show and she is also a gay/lesbian role model. Her show first show started in 2001 but unfortunately ended due to bad ratings and poor views. Then, in 2003 her daytime show became a success. Ellen is also an actress and has starred in numerous movies such as Coneheads, Mr.Wrong, Finding Nemo, and Finding Dory.
