UNLEASH YOUR ENTREPRENEURIAL SPIRIT!
An M-Cubator grant provides seed funding of up to $1000 for a student/students to pursue creative or scholarly projects in music that are entrepreneurial in nature and extracurricular in scope. Special consideration will be given to projects with specifically defined outcomes and the potential to make a significant impact on the field or on society at large. Examples might include—but are by no means limited to—community engagement initiatives, non-profit ventures, scholarly projects, technological innovations, or establishment of a new professional ensemble.
All students who are currently enrolled in a School of Music degree program and are in good academic standing are eligible to apply.
Submit an application form online and upload the following materials as a single PDF: 1) a one- to two-page single-spaced proposal describing in as much detail as possible the nature of your project, its intended outcome and broader significance, and a timetable of activities; 2) a separate and detailed preliminary budget (no more than one page); and 3) a current CV.
Submissions must be received by 11:59pm on April 15, 2018.
Recipients will be chosen by a committee consisting of School of Music administrators and representatives from each of the school’s seven divisions. Recipients must submit a detailed project report no later than one year after the grant is awarded.
