After 13 rounds and a competitive Semi-Finals, it was Finals time for 50 teams who had made it through the season. Congratulations to all the teams who played throughout the Competition and to the teams who made it through the BWPI Grand Finals.

12&U COMPETITION

The Mermaids started the day as they meant to go on with a close, competitive and thrilling win. Playing in the 12A Division, the Mermaids took on All Hallows in an evenly matched game. The Mermaids came away with the win, 5-4, the final result.
All Hallows were also in action in the 12B/C Division against the team from River City. It was another nail-biting match but the girls from All Hallows managed to consolidate their lead and hold onto their three goal lead, winning 9-6.
Two mixed teams from the Brisbane Barracudas and North Brisbane Polo Bears took to the pool for the final match for the age group. It was another close match for the youngsters, however, the Polo Bears managed to sneak in a couple of later goals to win the match, 9-5.

13&U COMPETITION

In the 13C Division, Brisbane Girls Grammar School took on the team from Mt St Michael's. Just one goal separated the two teams throughout the match but it was the BGGS girls who took the win, 4-3.
The Mermaids fielded two teams in the 13&U Competition. In the 13B Division, Mermaids played River City and for much of the match there was nothing to separate the two teams. Following in the footsteps of the 12A team, the Mermaids held onto their one goal lead to win 7-6.
In the 13A Division, the Mermaids were once again in action against the Girls from Brisbane Girls Grammar School. It was a low scoring match but the level of competition was high as both teams looked to take the early advantage. In their third and final victory for the day, the Mermaids managed to get the 4-3 win.
With 10 teams making it through the BWPI Grand Finals, it was a busy day for the Brisbane Barracudas. In the 13 Boys Division, the Barracudas took on River City. It was the Barracudas that raced to an early lead, which they managed to hold onto as River City fought back. In the end the Boys in Green came away with a 9-5 win.

14&U COMPETITION

Players and coaches from All Hallows had their hands full during the 14&U Competition with teams in all Divisions. The 14C girls took on Stuartholme and took a commanding lead, which they were able to extend as the game progressed. In the end All Hallows won the match, 14-5.
In the 14B Division, All Hallows faced a strong team from St Peters. In a tough encounter, St Peters ended All Hallows hopes of a clean sweep in the 14&U Competition winning the match, 9-5.
The girls from the Sunshine Coast took on All Hallows in the 14A Division final. Following the trend of the day, the match was closely fought and nothing separated the two teams. In the first penalty shoot-out of the day, it was the girls from All Hallows who emerged victorious, winning 4-2.
The boys from Brisbane Barracudas took on the Sunshine Coast in the 14 Boys final. The well-drilled outfit put in another commanding performance in both attack and defence, winning the final 8-1.

15&U COMPETITION

In the first match of the 15&U Competition, River City took on Stuartholme in the 15C Division. Frustrated by a strong defence from River City, the Stuartholme girls struggled to find the back of the net and in the end it was the team from River City who came away with the 7-1 win.
The Loreto Warriors faced All Hallows in the 15B Division Final. A strong defence and great saves in goal by the Loreto Warriors kept the All Hallows team scoreless and went onto to win the game 4-0.
The two clubs with the most teams entered faced each other in the 15A Division Final. As expected, the teams were evenly matched throughout much of the game but All Hallows managed to break the Brisbane Barracudas defence and get the clubs fourth victory of the day, winning 5-3.
It was another final between the Brisbane Barracudas and the Sunshine Coast, this time it was the 15 Boys who faced each other in a fiercely fought game. Both goalkeepers had their work cut out for them as the teams hunted for the back of the net. However, it was the Sunshine Coast boys who came out on top with a 7-6 win.

16&U COMPETITION

In the 16C Division, All Hallows were through to another final this time against the girls from Somerville House. The girls in green pressed the attack early on, taking an early lead, which they were able to defend and went onto win the game 7-2.
After a strong performance in the 15B Division Final, the girls in the Loreto Warriors 16B team were aiming to continue the clubs winning run. Facing the girls from River City, the Loreto Warriors were able to continue the clubs winning streak with a 7-4 win.
A strong North Brisbane Polo Bears squad took on the Brisbane Barracudas in the 16A Division Final and it was the Polo Bears team who came away with the in in a 7-1 win over the Barracudas.
It was another Sunshine Coast vs Brisbane Barracudas Boys Final, this time it was the 16 Boys teams who would face each other in the pool. In an impressive display in both attack and defence, the team from the Coast came away with a 12-2 win against the Barras.

18&U and 23&U COMPETITIONS

The 18&U and 23 Divisions were the last to compete and ended the day with several nail-biting matches. Congratulations to Brigidine (18C), All Hallows (18B), North Brisbane Polo Bears (18A) and River City (18 Boys) on your impressive wins. In the 23 Girls Final it was an all Brisbane Barracudas Final as the Barras took on the Cudas, who won a the friendly, yet competitive match 9-5. In the 23 Boys Final, it was a much closer affair between the Sunshine Coast and Carina Leagues Warriors. However, it was the boys from the Coast who came away with win, 6-5.
