Wanderer, returned and asked Mr.Ferdinand to create a 2.0-liter six-cylinder with 40bhp..Adolf Hitler announced 2 new programs: The People's Car & A state sponsored racing program.

Mr.Ferdinand ended up creating the Volkswagen Beetle, and a 16-cylinder 1653-Ib Auto Union P racing car, which set 3 world records in 1934, and was the most successful racing car of the inter-war era

The Auto Union provided Porsche with another opportunity, the money would be needed to keep the company afloat...Porsche became deeply involved in designing military vehicles leading up to WWII, The type 166 became one of the most numerous mass produced amphibious vehicles, +14,265 were manufactured

He was then later asked to redesign the Beetle in a "more French" style, there were disagreements between the French government and the car manufacturing firm led by Jean Pierre Peugeot. Mr.Ferdinand was later arrested

January 30th, 1951 he died at the age of 75. His son drove the company after his fathers death

All in a nutshell, the last passed 6 decades has been really successful for Porsche. the cars have excelled in Hillclimb events, Endurance races, Rallying, and even Formula 1. Porsche has obtained over 28,000 victories, including 16 constructor wins in 24 Hours of Le Mans, 18 wins at the Daytona 24-Hour, 11 wins at Targa Florio, and 17 victories at the 12 Hours of Sebring. Porsche started a winning streak, and won 24 Hours of Le Mans for 7 consecutive years after 1981, and the have acheived many more class wins such as "Longest Winning Streak"
