Asia is located in the Northern and Eastern Hemispheres. The Philippines (in dark green to the right) is surrounded by water so it doesn't have any countries close to it; But it does have seas and oceans like the South China Sea.

The capital of the Philippines is Manila with coordinates of (14°N, 121°E) and a population of 12.8 million.

The Philippines is in the "Tropical Zone", meaning its hot all year. Its seasons are based on rainfall and usually countries have a wet season and a dry season. (Between 0˚ and 23.5˚ latitude)

The Luzon Island

The Luzon Island is the largest Island of the Philippines and the 15th largest of the world. It is located north of the archipelago and the countries capital is located on the Luzon Island.

Mayan Volcano

This is the Mayan Volcano. It is also located on Luzon Island and is 2,462 meters tall. It erupts very frequently, so it's very dangerous. It's most violent eruption was in 1814 killing 1,200.

The Philippines population is 99.8 million which is very large. It's the 12th largest population in the world. It's population density is 867 per square mile, 41st largest in the world. But its still very crowded. The population is growing by 1.7%/yr that means the population is growing fast. the Fertility rate is 3.043 children per female.

The biggest cities in the Philippines are Manila 1.78 million, Davao, Cebu 1.633 million, Cebu city, Cebu 798809, Pasig, Manila 669773, and Dasmarinas, Cavite with 556330 people. So the population of the Philippines is mostly urban. The Philippines is very crowded and because of this some people want to leave. It's net migration rate is -1.23 migrants/1000 population. Meaning that people are leaving.

I think the Philippines is not very developed because the life expectancy is below average which is about 78 years. Another reason is that 95.4% of their population can read and write. It's usually around 99%. The GDP per capita is also low, $4,700 per year which is about $7,300 below average.

The main languages spoken in the Phillipines are Filippino, Tagalong, Cebuano, Liocano, (dialects) and English. The main religions are Catholic, Roman Chatholic, Aglipayan, and Muslim.

Baue Rice Tarraces

This is the Baue Rice Tarraces. They are about 2,000 years old and they carved by the Ifugao the Phillipines' ancient ancestors. The Baue Rice Tarraces are considered the "8th wonder of the world".

Banana Ketchup

Banana Ketchup or banana sauce is another thing the Phillipines have. It is a condiment made from mashed bananas, sugar and spices.
