Morocco's Religion

Morocco's religion is mostly Islam but has other religions as well. The percentage is: 98.7% Islam, 1.1% Christianity, 0.2% Judaism.

Morocco's population is exactly 35,149,233 as of April 13, 2017 9:33 AM.

Government

Morocco's government is a constitutional monarchy. The King is Mohammed VI and he has been leader since his fathers death in 1999

Geography

Morocco is in North Eastern Africa. It is next to the ocean and is close to a desert. It also has mountains in it.

Natural Resources

Some of Morocco's resources are Phosphates, iron ore, lead and zinc.

Cultural Food

Some of the most common foods are Tagines which are made with beef or chicken and Hariras which are heavy soups to make you warm in the winter.

Climate

the best climate is in spring and autumn when the weather is warm and dry but in the summer, it can be very hot and go up to 35 degrees Celsius.

Flag

This is the Moroccan flag. It's red with a green star in the middle.

Clothing

Some cultural clothing includes Djellaba which is a common robe, Gandora which is a hoodless sleeveless version of the Djellaba. They also wear turbans and barbouches.

Famous Monuments

Some of the most famous monuments are the Kasbah of the Udayas in Rabat, Hassan Tower in Rabat, Ruins of Chellah in Rabat.

Capital and Major Cities

The capital is Rabat. Some major cities are Fes and Marrakesh.

Major Agricultural Products

Some of the major agricultural products are oranges, olives and fish. Morocco is next to the ocean so they have many fish especially sardines.

Important Dates

Most important dates in Morocco are from Islam. For example, Muslim New Year, Eid ul-Fitr, Eid ul-Adha. Other dates are Proclamation of independence (January 11), Independence Day (November 18)

Interesting fact

The film Casablanca was named after the Moroccan city and the Academy Award for Best Motion Picture.
