Lars Henkel ( born in Rome 1973) grew up in Bonn, Germany. He studied illustration at the University of Applied Arts Aachen and at the Academy of Media Arts in Cologne. Today he lives and works in Berlin. In the last few years he has been teaching illustration in Kiel and Essen.

His work appears in magazines, books, CDs, and websites and has received honors from the ADC Germany, Society of Illustrators, American Illustration, Communication Arts and 3×3. 2015 he received the „Hans Meid-Award“.

He was commissioned by clients like GEO Magazine, Universal Records, Ride Snowboards, Meret Becker, Büchergilde Gutenberg, Gestalten Verlag and other international clients. (photo above by Kerstin Groh)
