We had a great time at the Youth Symphony on Tuesday. We heard some fantastic music, listened to nature sounds, for instance lightening, the sound inside caves, birds and imagined being in a garden.

We wrote a thank you letter to Mr. Kasper who was the conductor and drew him a picture of the garden we imagined being in during the composition.

Falcons Vs. Patriots Superbowl Sunday!

Our class has voted and... our results are:

Falcons = 5 students, Patriots = 8 students and I don't care, I just want to watch the commercials = 10. (hahaha)

We also read an article called, "NFL cracks down on players who act like they're having too much fun". It was an interesting article about football players celebrating too much during football games. We are going to pay attention to Sunday's game to see if we can see any players that might be acting like they are having too much fun.

I am looking forward to seeing you all during parent/teacher/student conferences. This is a great time for your child to shine! They will be sharing their data, how they are doing in the content areas and areas that they want to work on in order to be successful on AzMerit and in 5th grade.

Conference forms went home on Thursday. Please sign up for 3 times so I can work on getting you a time that is best for you. I will be sending home a confirmation notice as soon as I receive your times. Conferences are Wednesday, February 15th and Thursday, February 16th. We will be having early release days on the 15th, 16th and 17th and no school on February 20th for President's Day.

I've also sent home a paper about our Oreo party on Valentine's Day. If you are able to donate any Oreo cookies to the class it would be greatly appreciated. I will provide plain Oreos and Double Stuffed Oreos so any other flavors would be great.

Have a wonderful weekend! Next week our first student editors will be taking over the creation of this page. :)
