Why Sony? Sony's labels are comprised of both local artists and international sensations. Marketing is an essential component in facilitating awareness for these artists, and my marketing major would be beneficial in developing campaigns for these acts. Furthermore, Sony's corporate culture is welcoming and promotes risk-taking and innovation. On Glassdoor, a review stated that there were "lots of opportunities for professional development, great work environment, and learning of the overall music industry".

Brandship: the digital path between brand and consumer

Employee Benefits: There are many opportunities to grow within the company. Sony Music is the second largest record label and employs over 160,000 people. Moreover, Sony's work environment is characterized by innovation, cross-functional teams, and mentorship. This internship will benefit me by providing me a hands-on experience working in marketing and media distribution.

Sony's Divisions: There are many divisions within the company, including entertainment, electronics, and music. Interns will be engaged in social networking, analytics, and securing promotions for the label's artists. They will also generate awareness for Sony's artists by creating campaigns and working with other music outlets. Furthermore, the team will advise labels on what practices they should be using to promote their artists.

Marketing Campaigns: One Direction's latest album "Made in the A.M." was promoted through Google's Street View feature. Sony Music worked with Google to create a site displaying where the band shot their album cover. The weeks leading up to the album's debut, clues were hidden on the Street View so fans could discover more about the album.

In Conclusion: Sony Music Entertainment would be a great company to work for in the future because of the knowledge I would gain in marketing. This position will provide me with valuable experience in developing marketing campaigns, and having the opportunity to advise labels on what practices they should be using to promote their artists.
