Notes from the President District Update | July 19, 2020

District Items

Graduation Celebration

WHEN: Thursday, July 23

  • Pictures: 4:00-6:30pm & 7:15-8:00pm
  • Streaming Virtual Ceremony: 6:00pm
  • Graduate Parade and Celebration: 7:00pm

WHERE: Cascade Park - Urban Fishery/Band Shell parking lot


  • The Band Shell will be set up for pictures with a JPEC Graduate backdrop
  • Graduates and families may take pictures between 4:00-6:30pm, and then again after the virtual ceremony between 7:15-8:00pm.
  • Graduates will pick up their diploma and any earned chords from the Welcome Tent on the SW side of the parking lot before heading down to the Band Shell for pictures.
  • Graduates will be staged on side walk following chalked social distancing markings and will need to wear facial coverings while they wait. Please plan to bring a facial covering, or we will provide one to you.
  • Graduates will enter the Band Shell one at a time and have their picture taken and any pictures that parents/guests would like.
  • Parents/guests will be guided on the grass in front of Band Shell to ensure proper social distancing from the line of graduates. All parents/guest should plan to wear facial coverings while walking to, waiting at, and exiting the Band Shell area.
  • Parents/grads/guests will exit along the grass and behind the Welcome Tent back to the parking lot.
Graduate Photos: 4:00-6:30 / 7:15-8:00

Streaming Virtual Ceremony @ 6:00pm

The virtual ceremony will be streamed on our District Facebook Page on Thursday, July 23 at 6:00pm. The ceremony will also be streamed on our website at www.jacksonpec.org.

Graduate Parade and Celebration @ 7:00pm

  • Parents/Grads enter Urban Fishery/Band Shell parking lot. Please plan to have no more than two (2) cars per graduate. Graduates are encouraged to allow someone else to drive them through the parking lot so that they may focus on the celebration and be dropped at the Welcome Tent for pictures if they would like.
  • Graduates who will drive in parade will park in designated areas noted in the picture below.
  • JPEC Staff will park in designated areas noted in the picture below.
  • Families will be able to park in other open areas in the parking lot. These spots will be available based on a first come - first served scenario. So, if you are planning to park and celebrate your Graduate as he/she drives through, plan to arrive a little early. If the parking lot is full, guests will need to seek alternate parking and walk to the Urban Fishery/Band Shell.
  • All attendees are expected to have facial coverings and wear these coverings while outside of vehicles and near other individuals.
  • Social distancing guidelines will be followed.
  • Parade starts at 7:00pm. All will enter their vehicles and create parade line according to the attached map. Once parade loop is finished, guests will exit parking lot and/or head over to the Band Shell area for pictures.
  • Graduates may be dropped at the Welcome Tent to collect their items and head down to the Band Shell for pictures if they would like.

Basketball Uniform Return

Mr.Llerena has arranged for all Varsity and JV boys basketball players to drop off their uniforms at the Early College main entrance on Wednesday, July 22 from at 12:00-2:00pm

Mr. Llerena will be present to collect uniforms directly from players or parents/guardians as they pull up. You will not need to leave your vehicle. We ask that you please make sure your uniform is in a closed plastic bag. Thank you.
