Professional Learning Story
As we began this process back in June, we all reflected on our stories of learning and agreed that we were trying to create the best story for each student we see. As we begin to think about the next phase of this process, implementation, I wonder; What would be a meaningful story for professional learning? How might we ensure that every teacher has the opportunity to implement a culture of thinking? Please take a few minutes to share your thoughts and reflections. Personal Learning Story Form
Final Debrief Dates
The final debrief and decision meeting dates have been set. We will be holding separate meetings for elementary and secondary to minimize the impact on our sub system. These pm half days will include pilot debrief, crafting of recommendations, post surveys. Please plan accordingly to ensure you can attend. We will update with specific times as soon as we can coordinate the various half day schedules at each site. Below you will find action items needed in preparation for this day.
Elementary(K-5): January 11th

We have set dates for the administration and collection of post data. Please see the links and timeline below in order to plan accordingly. It is very important that we continue to be curious about student thinking and engagement throughout the process. We know that the BoE will be anticipating a strong recommendation grounded in our criteria matrix and student data.

Cultures Of Thinking Student Post Survey-(6-12 only) This is a digital survey that can be completed on any device. If you need paper copies for accessibility, please contact Gretchen Hazelwood.
Please contact one of the math IC's with any questions related to administering or submitting student post data. This is a critical component of our process and we want to ensure the data is compiled and available at our final debriefs.
As you are planning and using your resources we know that you may have specific thoughts/feedback that you want to remember when it is decision time. Please use the following forms as a place to document these pieces of information. You can quickly add notes about the various strengths/weaknesses of your piloted program. This information then provides an archive to be used when it is time to make a recommendation. Here are the forms for each grade band: elementary, middle, high
Classroom observations should be increasing in frequency. The sign up and information has be shared with all administrators, TP's, and leadership in APS. Some teachers are also working within their buildings to visit your classrooms. There have been several very positive pieces of feedback describing the learning experiences your students are having!
