St. Petersburg

Founded in 1703, St. Petersburg is the second largest city in Russia. It is also a "cultural capital" of Russia.

Until 1914, St. Petersburg was also the capitol city of Imperial Russia.
During WW2, St Petersburg was besieged by German forces. Over one million civilians died.
