Chinese love Pai as it was the movie set for two smash hits „Pai in Love“ and „Lost in Thailand“
I love landscape photography, these smooth little hills and beautiful sights.
Pai at Night
Pai is a backpacker hot spot where young travellers meet and party.
Only cats wear tie here.
Bye bye Pai
After an horrible night for Micha, driving the porcelain bus, we had to move on and hopp on a 7am minibus to Chiang Mai to catch the bus to Chiang Rai. Micha managed well, thanks to Immodium and some Thai car sick drugs. Happily recovering in Chiang Rai now.
ChIang Rai. pearl of the North
Night basar in Chiang Rai. The city is much calmer and relaxed than Bangkok or Chiang Mai.
Very pleasant AirBNB Experience
A bit of Art
Two famous sons of the city. Brachial vs filigran. Black vs White.
Baan Dam (Black House) is the unique creation of national artist, Thawan Duchanee. Part art studio, part museum, part home, Baan Dam is an eclectic mix of traditional northern Thai buildings interspersed with some outlandish modern designs.
Nice museum shop ;)
Wat Rong Khun (White Temple), is a contemporary, unconventional, privately-owned art exhibit in the style of a Buddhist temple. It is owned by Chalermchai Kositpipat, who designed, constructed, and opened it to visitors in 1997.
Spicy Crab Salad
Let’s give it a try
Actually not that bad, like salty crackers
Last breakfast in Chiang Rai
Pad Thai with Weißwurst
Bus to mekong river
Would mot have passed the German TŪV but on a Sunday it was a relaxed and easy way to get to the Northern border and the Mekong river.
Mekong – Mother of all Waters, River of all Rivers...
Not bad. Our first view over the Mekong in Chiang Kongh. The other side is already Laos.
Last day in Thailand.
