Kate Bontrager (Valparaiso, Ind./U. Indianapolis) was an All-CCAC First Team selection as a junior last season, recording 3.03 kills per set, the highest average in the conference among this year's returning players.

Helena Atton (Midland, Mich./Herbert Henry Dow HS) was named to the All-CCAC Second Team last season, after leading the team with 102 total blocks. Atton was one of six players to reach 100 blocks last year, and also ranked 27th in the NAIA with a .326 hitting percentage.

Alex Lambros (Oak Forest, Ill./Oak Forest HS) recorded 54 service aces a year ago, most among SXU returners. The senior ranked 37th in the NAIA in aces, and 7th in the CCAC in hitting percentage (.231).

Men's Soccer

The Cougars opened the 2018 season last Friday, falling at home to #16 Rio Grande (Ohio), 3-0.

This week, the Cougars hit the road for the first time, to face Lindenwood-Belleville. SXU defeated the Lynx at Deaton Field last season, 1-0.

Women's Soccer

Saint Xavier begins a promising 2018 season on Sunday, as the Cougars return nine of ten starting outfield players, plus both goalkeepers from last year.

Carly Bledsoe (Franklin, Tenn./Father Ryan HS) returns after averaging 7.5 saves per match last year, ranking 26th among NAIA goalkeepers.

Andreina Hernandez (Chicago Heights, Ill./Bloom Township HS) was last season's leading scorer, with four goals on the year.

Saint Xavier opens their MSFA Midwest League title defense this weekend with a visit to #15 Marian.

Last season, a 54-yard touchdown reception by Chris Simmons (LaGrange Park, Ill./Nazareth Academy) gave the Cougars the lead in the closing minutes of a 32-27 win over fifth-ranked Marian.

The Cougars return 17 starters from last year's NAIA Playoff squad, including MSFA Midwest League Defensive Player of the Year Tionte McDaniel (Markham, Ill./Thornton Township HS). McDaniel was also named an AFCA-NAIA All-American as a sophomore last year, earning Second Team honors.

2018 marks the 20th season that SXU Head Coach Mike Feminis will patrol the Cougar sidelines. The 2011 NAIA National Coach of the Year has led the Saint Xavier Football program to a 166-62 record and 11 postseason appearances.
