Spark Poetry

Kathy Thomas at Snow Heights Elementary is taking Poetry to the next level with her students.

Students worked to create a project in which they paired poetry with images, text, narration and music. Students began by choosing a published poem. Using their devices, they created a video showing the poem stanza by stanza. The completed videos were then uploaded to Adobe Spark.

Adding text and images

From there, they added pictures representing each stanza, and then layered using their own text. The layers continued by adding their own voices reciting the selected poems. Finally, carefully chosen music completed the projects. Completed projects are videos that can be easily shared.

Inspired by the lesson, Eli created an original poem - see below.
