pediatrician Katie Rackley

Who?

Medford Pediatrics

What?

The company of Medford Pediatrics is Providence. My job title would be Pediatrician. My job description is being a physician who diagnoses, treats, and helps prevent children's diseases and injures, examines children regularly to assess their growth and development, treat children who have minor illnesses, acute and chronic health problems, and growth and development concerns. The requirements to be a pediatrician is 4 years of college, 4 years of med school, and 3 years of residency.

Where?

I would stay here in Medford/ Central Point because Medford Pediatrics is in Medford. I would start out college at RCC for like the first two years and then get into another college for another two years before going into med school.

When?

Providence is pretty much hiring all the time and there are a lot of different positions as well. I would learn the different necessary skills in classes at college, Med school, and during my residency.

Why?

This career has always interested me because I would get to work with children on a daily basis and I love children and I would be so lucky to be able to help them and plus I am around a lot of children because I have a lot of cousins so I am used to being around a lot of children. I am the obvious choice because I have grown up with them and have learned how to help and care for them.

How?

After completing college, you will need to attend 4 years of medical school. After this you are a "general" doctor. The residency time to become a pediatrician is 3 years.
