Linocut Project

1. *Must save and use resource photos.

*Must choose an animal, insect or a plant on the endangered species list.

*Lines/shape must extend off the page on 3-4 sides

*Must have overlapping shapes

*Must have a variety of Line work (thick, thin, continuous, etc.)

*Background must be filled with 1 uniform texture

* Create a linocut plate and 10+ prints that demonstrates understanding of texture, pattern, proportion,balance, emphasis and observational drawing.

When I first started this project I was going to draw something that everybody knew was endangered but I saw Monarch Butterflies listed and it took me back to my childhood. My grandma loves monarch butterflies and I actually got a set and raised some on my own. Releasing those butterflies was so sad. Anyway I saw Monarch Butterfly on the list and I knew I had to draw it. Well when I searched up Monarch Butterflies and flowers were in almost every picture so I added flowers to fit the requirement of objects going off 3-4 sides.
